1. Who we are and what this covers
This policy describes how Meridian VPN (“Meridian”, “we”, “us”) handles information through the Meridian VPN website and Windows application. Contact: @NesquickTheDev on telegram.
2. Information handled
- License key: Meridian receives the license key you provide to authenticate your use of the Service. The website uses a temporary session to keep you signed in; it does not keep a separate account database or store other account or usage information.
- Device identifier: the Windows app reads the Windows user security identifier (SID) and sends it with sign-in and VPN authentication requests. Meridian uses it as the HWID value required by the authentication flow. It is a device/account identifier and may be personal information.
- VPN connection information: the application requests available VPN locations and profiles. When you connect, the selected VPN host and authentication systems process information needed to establish and maintain the connection. This can include your source IP address, connection time, assigned network information, protocol, and authentication result, depending on what those systems record.
- Information processed by providers: VelvetAuth and the VPN and hosting providers may process information needed to authenticate you, deliver the website or VPN connection, and operate their systems. Their systems may process technical connection data under their own practices.
- Local application files: the Windows app can save preferences and, if you choose “Remember license key” or enable auto login, the license key in your Windows user profile under
%APPDATA%\MeridianVPN. OpenVPN connection files, authentication files, and diagnostic logs may also be written there and may remain after disconnecting until you or the application removes them.
3. Cookies and website sessions
The sign-in area uses a temporary server session so the website can keep you authenticated between pages. Your browser stores the session identifier as a cookie. This temporary session is not a separate persistent account record. The current website code does not include an analytics or advertising tag.
4. Why information is used
Meridian uses the license key and HWID to authenticate license holders and provide access to the Service. The website session is used only to keep you signed in. We do not maintain a separate database of personal information or store VPN usage history. VelvetAuth, hosting, and VPN providers process information as needed to provide their services and may keep their own records.
5. Who information is shared with
Information is shared only as needed with:
- VelvetAuth, which handles account authentication, license status, device/HWID checks, and VPN profile access;
- Website hosting and infrastructure providers, which store and deliver the website and may process operational logs;
- VPN server operators and network providers, which carry VPN traffic and process connection information needed to provide the tunnel; and
- authorities or other parties where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the Service.
These providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their own privacy terms and technical practices also apply. We do not control their independent records or retention practices.
6. Retention and security
Meridian does not maintain persistent personal records beyond the license key and HWID used for authentication. Website sign-in state is held in a temporary server session and cleared when that session ends, such as when you sign out or the session expires. Hosting, authentication, and VPN providers may keep their own operational records under their own retention practices; we do not control those records.
We use server-side API credentials and reasonable technical measures to protect the Service, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed secure. The app’s locally saved key and OpenVPN authentication/configuration files are stored in your Windows user profile; protect access to your Windows account and device. You can disable “Remember license key” and auto login, sign out, and remove the MeridianVPN folder from your roaming application data to clear remaining local files.
7. Your choices and requests
You can choose not to sign in, disable remembered sign-in, or stop using the VPN. To ask about, correct, or request deletion of the license key or HWID associated with your use of the Service, or to raise a privacy concern, contact us on Telegram: @NesquickTheDev. Requests concerning records held by VelvetAuth, hosting, or VPN providers may need to be made to those providers.
8. Children
The Service is not designed for children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Meridian, contact us using the address above so we can review the request.
9. Updates
We may update this policy when our data practices change. The revised version and date will be posted on this page. If a change requires notice or consent under applicable law, we will take the required steps.
10. Privacy law
Your privacy rights depend on where you live and which laws apply to Meridian. If Australian privacy law applies to us, you may have rights under the Australian Privacy Principles, including rights to make an access or correction request and to complain about privacy handling. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
